Nature Paddling At Midsommar

13 - 20 june 2026.

Embark on the ultimate summer experience from the beautiful waters of Färnebofjärden National Park. Join this exclusive adventure, made possible by a unique partnership between Hiking Viking and Rewilder. During the enchanting week leading up to Midsummer, you'll embark on a canoe expedition that takes you deep into the breathtaking wilderness of Färnebofjärden. Experience the harmony of working with nature as you paddle across serene lakes, discover the rich diversity of flora and fauna, and wake up each morning in a new, picturesque location. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of Swedish nature, experience Midsummer like never before, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

What can I expect?

Our journey begins at Färnebofjärdens Camping, located in picturesque eastern Sweden. Amidst the enchanting Färnebofjärdens National Park, shaped by the Nedre Dalälven River, a diverse landscape unfolds: reed beds, forests, marshes, and over 200 islands! This diverse terrain is home to a variety of animals, including sea eagles, ospreys, woodpeckers, martens, lynxes, and even majestic moose. And where water and forest meet, beavers thrive as true architects of nature.

We keep the trip small-scale to fully enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Therefore, the maximum number of participants is limited to 10. The trip will proceed with a minimum of 6 participants.

What’s on the program?

  • Master safe canoeing.
  • Visit beaver lodges and search for beavers from a canoe!
  • Develop the distinction between “looking” and “seeing” in nature.
  • Acquire basic skills for safe fire-making.
  • Explore the National Park from a canoe as much as possible!
  • Sleep in a different beautiful location almost every night.
  • Look for animal tracks both from a canoe and on land.
  • Overlook the entire National Park from a lookout tower.
  • Search for hunting ospreys.
  • Visit an island where we learn about Huginn & Muninn, Odin’s ravens.

We conclude all this by celebrating Midsummer, an enchanting highlight of this unforgettable journey full of natural discoveries and experiences.
